“Little Bird with Hawthorn 1” – Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova | Watercolour

“Little Bird with Hawthorn 1” is a watercolour by Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova, in which a small moment in nature becomes a gentle painterly story.

A small image that holds a whole story.

The little bird is captured in that brief moment of rest when it seems to have forgotten to fly away for an instant. Its presence is light and natural – close to the way we encounter birds in nature and have only a few seconds to look at them.

Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova creates the image through the free and transparent language of watercolour. The colour moves softly, dissolving into the light surface in places and leaving a sense of air and spontaneity.

The small red hawthorn fruit becomes a vivid colour accent. It attracts the eye and brings warmth to the delicate composition.

The work does not seek a complex narrative. Its charm lies precisely in its simplicity – a bird, a fruit and a quiet moment in nature that would usually pass in seconds.

There is a particular intimacy in this immediacy. The little bird is not a distant decorative image, but a small living presence that seems to have come very close.

Measuring 20 × 25 cm, the work has a compact and intimate format, suited to the delicate watercolour image. With the frame, its dimensions reach 24 × 29 cm.

“Little Bird with Hawthorn 1” is a work about the simple beauty of nature – the kind that does not try to impress, but simply makes us smile.
