“Little Bird with Hawthorn 2” – Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova | Watercolour

“Little Bird with Hawthorn 2” is a watercolour by Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova, in which a brief and almost unnoticed moment in nature becomes a gentle painterly story.

The little bird bends towards the small red fruit – curious, focused and seemingly oblivious to the world around it.

Anna Tikhonova-Yordanova creates the image with free and light watercolour brushwork. The colour does not enclose the forms within strict outlines, but leaves them to breathe in the light space.

The little bird has a natural and spontaneous presence. Its pose conveys a sense of movement paused for only an instant – just long enough to be captured on paper.

The small red hawthorn fruit becomes the vivid centre of the composition. It attracts not only the bird's gaze, but ours as well.

Plenty of air remains around the image. This light and freedom give the watercolour a particular lightness and emphasise the intimacy of the scene.

There is no grand narrative, and none is needed. The charm lies in the moment itself – a bird, a fruit and that natural curiosity that turns a simple encounter into a small story.

Measuring 20 × 25 cm, the work has a compact and delicate format. With the frame, its dimensions reach 24 × 29 cm.

“Little Bird with Hawthorn 2” is a work about the beauty of those small moments that usually pass in seconds – but that we sometimes manage to preserve.
