Title
“Panel 4” – Eli Gerzilova | Original ceramics in a wooden frame
Full description
“Panel 4” is a gentle, poetic artwork by Eli Gerzilova, in which an embrace becomes an entire small world – quiet, protected and complete in itself.
The two figures are gathered so close that their bodies seem to become one shared form. Their arms wrap around one another, their heads draw together, and only a little space remains between them.
And it is right there that the golden bird appears.
Small and radiant, it becomes the bright centre of the composition. Sheltered between the two, the bird conveys a sense of something fragile and precious that they protect together.
At the same time, its image naturally suggests freedom – the ability to be close to someone without losing your own wings.
This is the beautiful paradox at the heart of the artwork. The embrace creates security, while the bird reminds us of freedom. The two can exist together.
The stylised faces have no specific features, turning the figures into a universal image of two people who have found trust in each other.
The earthy bronze and greenish tones give the ceramics warmth, while the golden accent stands out delicately among them.
The hand-worked surface preserves the characteristic textures and traces of modelling that give the artwork individuality and sculptural depth.
The dark wooden frame embraces the composition, further strengthening the sense of an intimate, protected space.
Measuring 28 × 29 cm, the panel has a compact format and can be a standalone artistic accent or part of a composition with the artist's other ceramic panels.
“Panel 4” is an artwork about closeness that also leaves room for freedom – about love that embraces without enclosing.
