“Nymphs in the Garden” consists of two related etching miniatures united in one mount and frame. Both develop the poetic theme of the female figure merging with nature.
Nymphs appear around and upon massive tree trunks. Their bodies gradually lose their boundary with the botanical world and become natural extensions of trees, branches and organic forms.
This dialogue gives the composition its mythological character. The figures are not merely placed within a landscape; they belong to the garden as unseen inhabitants and embodiments of its vitality.
Yulian Yordanov's filigree linework models bodies and the rich texture of bark with exceptional precision. Delicate colour accents enliven the graphic structure without disturbing its refined quality, adding volume and a natural rhythm.
The two scenes can be viewed separately, yet together they form a richer narrative: two encounters between the female body and nature, united by atmosphere and artistic language.
At 44 × 28 cm framed, the elegant horizontal format and shared mount emphasise their relationship and create a complete work.
