“Aries” – Yulian Yordanov | Etching

“Aries” interprets the astrological sign through human figures, mythological references and Yulian Yordanov's rich symbolic language.

A monumental male figure wearing a ritual helmet dominates the centre, embodying primal strength, determination and authority. Graceful female silhouettes intertwine around him, creating a complex rhythm and adding further layers of meaning.

Filigree etched lines model bodies, helmet and numerous symbols with exceptional precision. Rather than illustrating the ram literally, Yordanov builds an independent mythological and surreal world in which the central figure personifies energy, momentum and force.

The contrast between the figure's monumental presence and the fluidity of the female bodies gives the composition its dynamism. Strength and softness, stillness and movement coexist in productive tension.

Zodiac signs are woven among figures and details, turning the work into a visual puzzle that gradually reveals links between the human, mythological and astronomical.
