“Winter” – Reneta Isin | Oil on Canvas

“Winter” is an atmospheric and deeply comforting landscape by Reneta Isin in which the cold beauty of snow meets the warmth of home.

At the centre stands an old Bulgarian National Revival house nestled in a snow-covered rural courtyard. Light glowing through its windows forms the emotional focus of the scene, suggesting a calm life protected from the winter cold outside.

Snow covers the yard and architecture with a clean white blanket, while bare branches introduce a graphic rhythm and reinforce the surrounding stillness. Alongside cool whites, Isin places vivid pink and violet tones in the sky and tree crowns, transforming the realistic scene into something poetic and almost enchanted.

Executed in oil on canvas, the work combines the material richness of the medium with the softness of a winter atmosphere. Colour and light create depth without disturbing the composition's sense of peace.

The defining emotional contrast is between the cold world outside and the warmth within. Snow and bare trees speak of winter, while the illuminated windows turn the house into a symbol of comfort, shelter and human presence.

Framed at 58 × 48 cm, “Winter” has a strong independent presence and can bring light and feeling to either a classical or contemporary interior.

Light behind the window

Outside, the world is silent beneath the snow. Behind the windows of the old house, a warm light remains. Reneta Isin captures one of winter's most cherished feelings: looking into the cold and knowing that home is near.
