“Saint Menas” is a compelling and noble icon by Krasimir Tashev dedicated to the revered Orthodox saint and Great Martyr Menas.
The saint is presented with military attributes that emphasise strength, resolve and spiritual steadfastness. Deep reds in the mantle form a powerful visual accent and give the figure a solemn presence. A golden halo surrounds the serene face with light, while its contrast with the saturated garments creates a rich, harmonious image.
Tashev combines decorative detail with a clear spiritual message. Every element remains subordinate to the central figure and its associations with strength, protection and hope. The wooden support adds natural warmth and connects the work with the long tradition of icon painting.
Saint Menas is traditionally venerated as a protector of families, homes, orphans and travellers. This symbolism makes the icon both an artwork and an object of personal spiritual meaning. At 15 × 23 cm, it can be placed naturally in a home, a prayer space or a collection of religious art, and makes a meaningful gift expressing wishes for protection, strength and well-being.
