“Glagoli – Green” is a refined ceramic sculpture by Evgenia Georgieva, part of a series inspired by the Glagolitic letter “Glagoli” and its association with language and knowledge.
The ancient written sign is transformed into an organic three-dimensional form that can be experienced from different viewpoints. The letter leaves the manuscript page and gains volume, materiality and its own sculptural rhythm.
Language occupies the symbolic centre of the work: the ability to express thought, communicate and transmit knowledge. In Georgieva’s interpretation, it also becomes a bridge between thought and action.
Flowing curves create movement and continuity. Openings and internal turns allow light to become part of the form, while the organic relief retains irregularities and marks that give the ceramic an archaic character.
This variation is distinguished by turquoise-green shades set against an earthy base. The colours bring freshness and depth, highlighting different areas of the relief as the light changes.
The contrast between ancient symbolism and vivid colour gives “Glagoli – Green” both an archaic resonance and a contemporary decorative presence.
Measuring 13 × 18 × 13 cm, the sculpture can be displayed on a bookcase, desk, console or another suitable surface. It is especially meaningful in a study or library, yet its organic form also fits naturally within a modern home.
