“Conversation” is a poetic watercolour by Alexander Telalim, dedicated to the closeness between two people and the invisible space that sometimes remains between them.
Not every conversation begins with words. And sometimes the most important ones take place precisely in the pauses.
There is a sense of an encounter in the work: two presences close to one another, yet seemingly still searching for a way to reach each other.
The silence here is not empty. It holds unspoken thoughts, hesitation, memories and feelings for which words are not always enough.
Watercolour naturally complements this delicacy. The colours meet, blend and leave space between them, much like human conversation itself.
Alexander Telalim does not tell us who these two people are or what is happening between them. The story remains open, because everyone knows an encounter like this: a moment when the other person’s presence says more than the words spoken.
“Conversation” is a work about those encounters in which what matters most remains between the lines: and is understood nevertheless.

Between the words
Two people can talk for a long time and say nothing. Or they can simply stay beside one another and everything is understood. In “Conversation”, Alexander Telalim leaves precisely this space: between words, glances and what we have not managed, or not dared, to say.
